Yoga Scotland Insurance

Insurance for teachers and student teachers is provided through Yoga Scotland by Royal & Sun Alliance as part of the teaching membership package. The insurance broker is Perkins-Slade.

Insurance is offered to all teachers provided that they undertake one On-Going Training day (or equivalent) per year.

This policy is annually renewable. Insurance is for the period 1st October for one year and members are invited to renew their membership in September. Teachers or students who have not renewed their membership by the end of September will no longer be covered by the insurance.

If you are required to supply proof of insurance cover, please email Kirsty for a personalised cover note. This should be presented along with your current Yoga Scotland membership card, which states that you are a current teaching member and are therefore covered by the Yoga Scotland Insurance Policy.

Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs)

The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) is a charity which is owned by Skillsactive the Sector Skills Council and has been set up to help safeguard and promote the health and interests of people who are using the services of exercise and fitness instructors, teachers and trainers. The charity is overseen by a Board of Governers and the day to day administration is undertaken by a small group of staff and uses a process of self-regulation that recognises industry-based qualifications, practical competency, and requires exercise professionals to work within a Code of Ethical Practice. Members of the Register are issued with a card and registration certificate to prove their qualification and membership. Also known as the Exercise Register it operates in the UK and across the world to recognise personal achievement and competencies of qualified exercise professionals. Membership of REPs through your professional organisation, Yoga Scotland, presently stands at £8 renewable on 31 January each year.
