Notes
I started practicing yoga in 1984. I was suffering from sciatica and neck problems and had heard that yoga might help. Little did I realise it would transform my life. I was lucky enough to attend classes with Jane Thomson in her Borders Studio and become involved in the thriving Borders Yoga Circle, which organised a programme of inspiring visiting yoga teachers. The seminar at St Andrews became an annual fixture as well as regular visits to Lendrick Lodge, where I attended many of the summer yoga weeks and weekends and learned from a huge range of teachers from a wide variety of traditions.

I had no option but to start teaching yoga in 1993, when a friend hired a hall and drummed up a class. This led to training with the SYTA and taking on more classes. I trained with the Prison Phoenix Trust and have done some teaching in prisons. I taught on the first Yoga Scotland Foundation Courses from 2002, on the first Living Yoga course in 2009 and on 3 of the Edinburgh Teacher Training courses. I have served on the YS executive committee as On-Going Training coordinator and secretary and more recently on the Board of Trustees as secretary. I am now happy to retire from Trustee duties and return to teaching on the Living Yoga course.
